We developed a strategic plan for launching a franchise in Saudi Arabia taking into account local legislation, agreed on key aspects with the regulator and prepared the initial package of documents to support the transaction between the UAE and the Saudi company.
Establishing a Video Game Museum in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
Conducted an analysis of international agreements, national legislation of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the USA to protect the company's rights from potential claims by copyright holders, assessing their impact on the project. Prepared flow charts with illustrations of when the use of someone else's intellectual property in a project is a violation, and when it is not, as well as what strategy should be chosen when building relationships with a specific copyright holder.
Legal support for launching a car sharing service in the UAE
We advised the client on issues of relations with the application developer, legal aspects of work in the UAE, prepared a full package of documents for working with clients and car rental partners (terms of service use, standard car rental agreement, terms of use of rented cars, privacy policy) and protected the client's brand in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Registration of four brands of an agro-industrial holding in the MENA region
Conducted a deep analysis and identified risks related to public order standards and the specifics of the Arabic language. Suggested a strategy to overcome them for safe entry into the countries of the Arab region. After synchronizing the legal and marketing strategies, we successfully supported the registration processes and did not encounter refusals from the patent offices of the MENA region countries: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Oman and Egypt.
Supporting a software purchase transaction in Saudi Arabia
We conducted a comprehensive due diligence of the seller, including verification of the intellectual property (IP) rights of the purchased product.
As part of the audit, an analysis of the presence of trademarks, a detailed audit of the use of open-source components, and a check of licenses for partner solutions were conducted.
Based on the prepared report, the client successfully completed the transaction. We also provide support for the registration and re-registration of all acquired intellectual property objects in the UAE. The transaction was carried out in accordance with the laws of Saudi Arabia.
