Getting Emirates ID
The final step in obtaining residency is the issuance of a physical document – Emirates ID – confirming your status.
This is a national ID card issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP). It allows you to open personal and business accounts, assign a mobile phone number, and verify your identity in government and commercial institutions.
The process of getting Emirates ID
Stage 1
Fill out and submit the form
If you have the above documents and have paid the required fee, you can fill out an electronic form at one of the authorized centers or through the online form on the ICP website. After submitting the application, an SMS and an email will be sent.
Stage 2
Submit biometrics
If you have not submitted biometrics before and are receiving a resident visa for the first time, you must come to an authorized center at ICP and submit biometrics. If you have submitted biometrics before, you can skip this step.
Stage 3
Get Emirates ID
When your Emirates ID is ready, you will receive a notification and the card will be delivered by courier to the specified address.
What documents will be needed?
- Resident visa.
- Passport.
When can an Emirates ID be cancelled?
In case of termination of the residence visa (expiration or termination of the basis for issuance) and there is no intention to extend it, the Emirates ID is terminated.
“For example, if you have not been in the UAE for 6 months or more, your residence visa may be cancelled (does not apply to the Golden Visa). In this case, your Emirates ID may cease to be valid. And to avoid negative consequences, you will need to obtain an entry permit from the ICP, stating valid reasons for your absence from the UAE.” Ilya Vydrych, Development Manager бизнеса
